“For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one believes and is saved.”-Romans 10:10
Faith is something that is impossible to minimize in the Christian life. We can have all of the good works possible, but without faith we will not be justified in the eyes of God. The free gift of God is available only through faith in Jesus Christ.
Today’s verse is a powerful reminder for us. What are we relying on to look good in the eyes of God? Are we trying to do it on our own? That seems to be our tendency. I can’t begin to count how many times I tried to do things on my own, but that accomplished was putting a priority above Christ. May we be reminded today that it is our faith that saves us. Let us thank him today for this awesome grace!
