Life is Precious

Last night I was in the middle of teaching a class on the Holy Trinity when an scary text message was received.  It was from my wife, and I could tell by the tone that she was distraught.

Her mom received news that nobody wants to here.  Cancer was the word.  It has been something that both sides of the family have battled.  Some victorious and some went home to their eternal reward.

The good news is that the doctor is not overly concerned and wants to run another test to either confirm or deny the first.  In the meantime my father also found out that he has skin cancer.

Why am I sharing this?  Because sometimes we take our loved ones for granted.  It isn’t until we are punched in the face with a dose of reality that we realize the gifts that we have.

This post is short, but I ask you to keep those family members of mine in prayer.  On this Valentine’s day remember your loved ones.  Reach out call, text, email, or do whatever you can do to reach them.  God bless you all.
