Healthy Body = Healthy Church

Healthy church can be reduced to how healthy is the body of Christ (Paul’s controlling metaphor for explaining how the church should operate- Rom. 12/ 1 Cor. 12/ Eph. 1 and 4 and Colossians 1).

From church history… every time and any time the church got serious about the development of the body/ laity… the church experienced revival. Therefore, revival/ health can be demystified:

  1. The individual members of the body getting connected to Christ (UP) through quiet time/ spiritual formation. Loving God
  2. The individual members of the body getting connected to each other (IN) in small groups and practicing the over 50 different “one another” injunctions. Loving One Another
  3. The individual members of the body connecting to the mission of Christ and becoming the hands and feet of Jesus in a community (OUT). Loving our neighbor.

Therefore groups… or “holy clubs” as Wesley called them or “cell groups” (Korean church)…
