Oswald Chambers is author of the classic devotional My Utmost for His Highest.  I am a fan of the book, and when I saw the opportunity to review this work I jumped at the chance.  This collection of devotions are from his lesser known writings from when he was a Bible College teacher in Cincinnati.

The book contained 365 daily devotionals that each include a passage of scripture, a short devotion, prayer thought, and suggested scripture readings for the day.  Though each page is fairly short, the amount of Christian truth contained in it is massive.  It is my recommendation to read the suggested readings as the devotion themselves are rather short.  The prayer suggestions are appropriate for the topic being discussed, and serve as a reminder of the verse that was read.

Overall Devotions for a Deeper Life is a great devotional book that serves to build disciples.  As previously stated, the devotional is not enough to read, but must be included along with the suggested readings and suggested prayer.
