Dare to be Bold

“And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak the word with all boldness.”- Acts 4:29

The definition of “bold” is very interesting.  To be bold is “showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous.”  In today’s verse Peter and John were just tried before the Sanhedrin and ordered not to speak of the name of Jesus again.  They were released and immediately began to teach in the name of Jesus.  Today’s verse shows their determination, in the face of great persecution, to remain faithful in their witness.

So what about us?  Are we praying to be faithful witnesses to the Lord?  To often we get caught in a trap of materialism that we forget what is truly important.  There are people in this world who are faithful witnesses who lose their earthly lives daily.  Are we willing to be faithful witnesses to this extent?  Take some time today to pray for the boldness that today’s verse speaks of.  May we be forever faithful witnesses of Christ.
