“Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”- Hebrews 10:25
Community is important. We were created with the need of human interaction. Though some time of solitude is helpful, especially in daily prayer and scripture reading, a prolonged period of days and weeks can lead to a sense of loneliness. It is natural for us to seek others to offer encouragement, advice, or to just have a good laugh with.
That is also the reason why going to church is important. Many say “I don’t need to go to church to be a Christian.” I say if you are a Christian why don’t you want to be part of a community of fellow believers? The encouragement and teaching offered in a Bible believing church is invaluable to your spiritual growth. There is only so much we can do alone, but in a community of believers, in right mind with Christ, we can grow in our walk with Him. Do not neglect gathering together in a church setting. The perfect church does not exist, because we are all sinners saved by God’s grace. In fact, I once found the perfect church and once I stepped foot in it it was no longer perfect. If you are not attending a Christ centered Bible believing church I encourage you to start. It is okay to visit several, but we must never go about the Christian life alone. The devil is out there looking for someone to take out, and often times it is the one who is alone by himself struggling.
