He saves

“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.”-Titus 3:5

As I look back on my life there are many times I thought that I was not good enough for something.  I didn’t perform well enough for that promotion, I didn’t say the right things to land the deal, and any other number of things.  Today’s verse is a reminder that Christ saves us through faith not because of anything we do, but because He loved us enough to die as our substitute.

Are thinking you are not good enough for the mercy of Christ?  My friend I assure you that anything you have done will be forgiven when you place your faith in Him.  Many think e can work our way into Heaven, but the Bible is clear that the only way to Heaven is through Christ.  Salvation comes not by our work, but by the redemptive work of Jesus on the cross.  Sometimes we forget this simple message of the Gospel.  May we be reminded of it daily.
